Come visit us at 600 Broad Street and speak with a Membership Representative about joining today! At the Y, you can enjoy our 25-yard, heated pool, sauna, steamroom, state-of-the-art excercise equipment and full range of fitness classes.
At the Y, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to take part in our programs. Financial assistance is available to those who are unable to pay the full membership and/or program fees. For our financial aid application, click here.

Membership Amenities:
Get fit, get healthy . . .
Your membership includes a 45-minute fitness orientation with a YMCA staff person who will take you through your first workout. Our trained staff will help you establish goals and formulate a plan to reach them.
Members learn the proper technique and execution on over thirty weight training machines for various muscle groups. Our staff will also help members gauge the intensity of aerobic workouts to reach optimal performance on our cardiovascular equipment. In addition, proper warm ups and stretches for tight muscles will be illustrated. Members can schedule refresher appointments as needed at either the membership desk or in the Cardio Center.
Our trained staff can also refer members to other services and programs that the Newark YMCA has to offer, such as massage therapy, babysitting and personal trainers. In addition, members are given three guest passes to share with friends or family per calendar year. Guest passes may also be purchased at the Y - see the membership handbook for details.
SILVER SNEAKER Fitness Program:
Through Healthways, older adults and other eligible adults can participate in the Silver Sneaker Fitness Program offered at Newark YMCA. Program participants can also use other amenities. To have access to the steam and sauna, please ask our desk staff for details. Please contact us when you receive your Silver Sneaker card or ask our staff about eligibility requirements to join the program. Newark YMCA Ambassador Program
The Ambassador Program gives current members the opportunity to refer their friends and relatives to join. Once the guests join, the members receive gift certificates redeemable for Y items such as a Y bag, Y T-shirt, Y swimming cap, etc.
Babysitting
Our babysitting room has been remodeled to accommodate children who are potty trained through 8 years of age while their parents are working out at the YMCA. Kids will enjoy crafts, movies, board games and educational computer games. The cost is $3.00 per child/per day, but there is no charge for Household and Single Parent Members. The babysitting room is open Monday-Friday 5:00pm-8:00pm, and Saturday, 9:00am-1:00pm.
