LINWOOD MACDONALD YMCA RETREAT CENTER

Camp Linwood MacDonald YMCA is dedicated to providing educational experiences for youth that will promote overall curiosity and enhance their learning potential. Our environmental education program consists of hands-on learning experiences that challenge students to look beyond their immediate world. Through exploring the outdoor environment, students learn valuable skills that can be applied to their classroom work and everyday lives, such a research skills, group work as well as traditional math and science.

Linwood MacDonald YMCA classes meet New Jersey State Core Curriculum Guidelines for Environmental Education. Thus, schools can offer a high quality learning experience while meting such standards. Classes offered teach geometry, scientific ecology studies and team building skills to name a few. Linwood MacDonald YMCA works closely with each school to ensure their education objectives are met during their stay.

It's fun too! Environmental education gives students an opportunity to realize that learning is a fun, active pursuit and will establish life skills for their education careers.

When questioned on evaluations as to their favorite part of Linwood students comment on the fun-loving knowledgeable staff, the wide range of activities, the great food at camp and some simply say,"I love it all"!
