Attendance is mandatory for all days
In order to be eligible for the
Lifeguard Course you must successfully complete the Swim Pre-Test.
The Pretest is $10 and will be held on
August 5 and August 12 in the pool from
6pm-9pm.
The Lifeguard Certification
Class is $250
The Lifeguard Challenge will also be offered

The YMCA of Newark will offer the American Red Cross
CPR for the Professional Rescuer Challenge Course
August 12, 2010 at the Newark Y
The challenge course will run from 9am-11am
Prerequisites: The purpose of a challenge is to provide individuals with the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and knowledge competency outside of the formal class setting. The participant has the sole responsibility in preparing for the knowledge and skills test. Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge. Individuals who do not hold a current American Red Cross certificate (or equivalent) may participate in the challenge option only one time. Non-certificate holders who do not pass the knowledge and skills test must then take the full course. They will not be allowed to attempt the challenge again. Individuals who posses a current American Red Cross certificate (or equivalent) may challenge as often as they like, as long as the certificate remains current. Please bring your pocket mask with you.
