The Succeed Program is a grant funded community based detention alternative program that provides case management services and life skills workshops to adjudicated youth, ages 13-17. The program operates Monday-Saturday from 3 pm-9 pm. Youth in the program also receive individual and family counseling, tutoring and GED training, mentoring, evening meal and snack, on-site access to fitness and wellness activities, community service opportunities, and transportation. 

The program curriculum includes components that address social behavior, conflict resolution, decision making, peer pressure, team building, communication skills, gang prevention, and drug/alcohol awareness.
 
Program Goals
  • Decrease recidivism rate in teenagers
  • Serve as a safe haven for inner city youth
  • Ensure youth attend court appearances and report to probation
  • Provide programming during high crime hours (3 pm-9 pm)
  • Minimize risk taking and delinquent behaviors during and post program participation
  • Expose inner city youth cultural activities
  • Assist in family reunification process
  • Provide mentors/caring adults to program participants
