Dear Esteemed Community Members,
As I step into my role as the Chair of the Newark YMCA Board of Trustees, I am filled with both excitement and a profound sense of purpose. It is an honor to serve our community in this capacity, and I am deeply committed to our collective mission of creating positive change and advancing the well-being of all. I also want to express my sincere appreciation to my predecessor, Michelle Abel, for her dedication and leadership. Her contributions have laid a strong foundation upon which we will continue to build and grow, and I am honored to follow in her footsteps.
Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on one of the cornerstones of our community's strength: our culture of generosity. At the heart of our shared endeavors lies a spirit of giving – giving of our time, our talents, and our treasures to support causes and initiatives that uplift and empower those in need.
Fundraising is not merely about raising funds; it is about building relationships, fostering connections, and making a meaningful impact. It is about coming together as a community to invest in our shared future and ensure that no one is left behind.
As we embark on this journey together, I am committed to cultivating a fundraising culture that is rooted in transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. I believe that by working collaboratively and leveraging the collective strength of our community, we can achieve extraordinary outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
To that end, I invite each and every one of you to join me in embracing this YMCA culture of generosity wholeheartedly. Whether through volunteering your time, sharing your expertise, or making a financial contribution, your support is invaluable and makes a tangible difference in our ability to fulfill our mission.
I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and am confident that, together, we can achieve remarkable feats. Let us harness the power of our collective goodwill to create a brighter, more equitable future for all, right here at the Newark YMCA.
Thank you for your continued support, dedication, and generosity. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Chair of the Board, and I look forward to the journey ahead.
With warm regards,
Kevin Reed
